Ashley Thorne joined the United Way team in May 2015 and brings a sincere passion for community engagement and community capacity building. She has completed her BA in Global Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University and Not-for-Profit Leadership Management Certificate from Seneca College. Ashley started at United Way as the Community Engagement Assistant but over her nearly two years at United Way she has had the opportunity to lend a hand in nearly all departments of United Way, giving her a truly unique look into the world of a non-profit organization. Ashley now takes on the role of Community Impact Coordinator; a role that allows her to work for both the Community Engagement and the Community Partnerships and Investment teams. Ashley is energized and inspired everyday by the efforts her colleagues, volunteers and community members make to help solve issues facing our community and truly ignite possibility.
Ashley enjoys summer bucket list adventures, skiing, camping with family and friends, road trips, thrift shopping and reading.
