Sara Middleton joined United Way in 2011as a member of the Community Engagement team leading the development of GenNext, community impact experiences and corporate volunteer programs. Prior to United Way, Sara worked in outdoor education and camps, was a member of the senior management team for YWCA Edmonton and worked with numerous non-profit organizations in the areas of fund development, youth engagement and program evaluation. A native of Nova Scotia, Sara lived and worked in rural Alberta for more than 12 years prior to moving to London.
Sara has served as chair of the Alberta Camping Association, a board member of the Canadian Camping Association and London Youth Advisory Council, and a task force volunteer with YWCA Canada. Currently, Sara is a board member of the London Training Centre and volunteers with the Active & Safe Routes to School initiative. Sara earned an Hons BA Recreation & Leisure Studies Co-op (Business, Parks) from the University of Waterloo.
